The Challenge -Creating a New Shopping Experience without Disrupting Operations
Shufersal was one of the first grocery chains to understand the potential benefits of frictionless shopping. They realized it offered:
Superior customer experience
Optimized store operations
An online shopping experience in a physical space
Shufersal defined key targets in its search for a solution:
Delight shoppers
Increase basket sizes
Control shrink
Reduce labor costs
“We are bringing all the benefits of online shopping to our physical stores. The shopping experience will be more personalized, targeting each customer with relevant recommendations, while avoiding the part least liked by the customers – queuing at the checkout counters. Shopic has developed a solution together with us that meets all these needs”

The Solution - Delivering an Online Experiences in Physical Stores
After reviewing multiple solutions, Shufersal selected Shopic as its strategic partner for medium and large grocery stores.
They were particularly attracted to Shopic’s modular approach and low-footprint deployment that does not impact existing operations.
Shopic's key innovation is a smart clip-on device that is compatible with any standard shopping cart. The Shopic solution did not require extensive changes to Shufersal's physical infrastructure or any investments in new and expensive carts.
Shopic’s modular approach allowed for a pragmatic smart cart deployment:
Quick to deploy at scale: suitable for large supermarkets
Operationally feasible: requires only minimal store modifications
Cost-effective: the market’s lowest cost solution
